The Founder of Modern Kadampa Buddhism is Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche,  a world-renowned meditation master who holds the very essence of Buddha’s teachings in his heart.

Venerable Geshe-la transmits this profound wisdom and compassion to the people of the modern world in very practical ways through the extremely accessible methods of modern Kadampa Buddhism, which he introduced.

A life of dedication
Since 1977, when he accepted an invitation to become Resident Teacher at Manjushri Centre in the UK, he has given thousands of teachings, composed twenty-three widely acclaimed books on Buddhism and meditation, established over 1,300 meditation centers, trained hundreds of qualified Teachers and developed practical study and meditation programs to suit the needs of the modern world.

In short, he has dedicated his entire life to laying the foundation for modern Kadampa Buddhism to flourish throughout the world in this and future generations.

Our Resident Teacher

Kadam Mick Marcon is the Resident Teacher at Losang Dragpa Kadampa Buddhist Centre and has been practising meditation and Buddhism since 2004. With his clear understanding of Buddha’s teachings and down-to-earth manner, Mick inspires us to develop a pure and happy mind. Mick teaches weekly drop-in classes, our courses and retreats, as well as the Foundation Program.

Cara O’Meara has been practising meditation and Buddhism since 2008. Cara is a naturally warm and down to earth person, who shares her appreciation for inner development through practical and helpful advice for our daily life. Cara currently teaches the Tuesday evening class in New Lambton and Wednesday morning class at The Centre.

 

 

 


Patrick Manning started meditation & Buddhism classes in 2009, and has a deep appreciation for Buddha’s teachings. He is a dedicated student on our Foundation Program and teaches with sincerity and humility.
